Peridot pronounced pair-a-doe, is a green gem stone formed under intense pressure, and belongs to a group of gem stones known as olivine.

This gemstone is always green, but its clarity, depth and range of green is dependant upon ite iron centent.

Peridot is also known as Chrysolith (derived from the Greek word Goldstone and Olivin, derived from the Greek Peridona, loosely translated as "giving plenty", and is known as an abundance stone

Peridot is said to help with insomina, digestive problems, as well as stimulating the mind.
