Ideal Gift for a Cancer/Leo Friend
Ideal Gift for a Cancer/Leo Friend
Personally I really hate shopping, and I find it particularly hard to find the right gifts for any of my friends.
From my previous blog posts, you will now by now that I have always struggled to find that illusive unique gift for my friends, especially as I have known them for so long.
At least I have one saving grace that I can now make them something totally unique that is on a really personal level.
So it was this in mind that for a friend who I first met at university many moons ago, that I decided that I would gift her with a new piece of jewellery for her birthday.
Last year I made her a facetted dragonvein agate styling silver wire bracelet, which I know she loves and on her "state visits" it adornes her wrists.
As such I didn't want to make her another bracelet, so I chose to make a pair of semi precious gemstone dangle earrings.
The running joke between us is that as she is born on the cusp, whether she is a Cancer or a Leo, because depending on which horoscope one chooses to read she is either of these.
Taking her colouring into consideration with her pale complexion, ginger hair and green eyes, I didn't want something too brash, just a pair of earrings that would compliment her colouring.
Taking these little facts into consideration, I choose to create my earrings with a semi precious gemstone combination of freshwater pearl (cancerian) and peridot (Leo), and for those that know me you will know that I have a soft spot for fresh water pearls.
So the basic of gemstone combination choice has been made, but I still wanted to make it super special, so I choose to use black/peacock freshwater pearl, to give them a bit of mystic and nuggets of natural peridot, which is a paler green to the usual peridot semi precious gemstones one usually come across.
The final result is:
Personally, I have to admit, I really love these, and wouldn't mind a pair of these myself!
I love that they are quietly understated, and so that can be worn during the day or at night, and should be able to go with most things.
My friend absolutely loves them, and just could not wait to wear them and show them off to her friends on a night out.
Obvioulsy I am a little bit biased, but what do you guys think?
