New Year New Rings Part II
New Year New Rings Part II
As we emerge from winter, 2023 is proving to be a very popular year for my conteporary rings.
March was a month of experimenting with ring shank textures and designs.
Between adding new stock to the market stalls and websites, and ring commissions, March has seen som creating hours being racked up in Joolzery HQ!
Earlier this year I treated myself to some new stamps, to ensure that I can add a little bit of design flare to my ring shank and pendant settings, I am still awaiting on the delivery of some gorgeous ones from the USA, but I've still got a few that I ordered last year that I am playing around with.
Along with a heavier mallet I have created a designated stamping station, to improve the stamping quality and consistency.
In my previous newsletter, you might remember that I created a sterling silver diamond labradorite textured ring, which sold at the Brockholes artisan market, and listening to the feedback, I decided to make another one, with a lighter shade of labradorite, and I thought while I am at it, why not add some Moss Agate into the mix, especially as I know that this is a very popular stone at the markets, and at the same time try out my new batch of stamps:

As I am currently adding new healing crystals into the mix of my jewellery range, this stunningly stripped Fluorite stone caught my eye, being the magpie that I am, and felt that it was crying out to be turned into a gorgeous statement ring:

Fluorite encourages positivity, balances the energies, and improves balance and coordination, both physically and mentally. it is known as a dream crystal , which protects the mind and is said to free the spirit at night to explore, travel and expand without fear.
This fabulous stone allows one to form ideas and concepts, enhances creativity and opens the mind to new possiblities, so is a wonderful crystal that has great affinity for students and studying.
K2 Jasper has been a popular stone for those who love earrings, and the last time I made a K2 ring it sold at Granby Street Market, so I thought it was about time for me to make another one!
Me being me, I thought why not add a pendant in the mix to so create a bit of set:

Whilst playing around and experimenting with textures, I wanted to create a brutalist ring band for this luscious chocolate brown flash black moonstone hexagonal stone.
I decided to go freeform and random for the design and at the last minute oxidised the ring shank to make the imprint stand out and give it an industrial look:
