New Year New Rings Part III
New Year New Rings Part III
Can you really have too many rings???
April has been a month of experimenting, stamping and making smaller stone statement rings.
The month started withme making 4 ring commissions from the previous month markets, and repeat customer, mainly after smaller contemporary hexagonal rings:
Malachite is always a distinctive healing crystal which tends to draw alot of people in, whilst I was making a commission plain band oval ring, a round Malachite stone caught me eye so I just had to make a ring with that stone too!!
Handcrafted SS Geometric Moss Agate stamped rings
Ever on the lookout for new and unusual healing crystals, when when I was offered some fabulously stunning blue green oval azurite shattuckite cabochons, I snapped them up and when i received them they didn't disappoint, so much so that my inner magpie couldn't wait to make them into a ring:
Handcrafted Azurite Shattuckite textured SS hexagonal ring
Shattuckite helps develop ones intuition and inspires one to connect with ones spirituality, which activates and aligns the Throat and Heart Chakras.
Shattuckite is said to be an excellent healing stone for those who constantly talk in front of audiences or who spend a large amount of time public speaking. It encourages one to not only speak the truth, but in a way that comforts the audience in which one may be speaking infront of.
This ring didn't even make it to the stand, as I sold it the day after I made it at the April West Kirby The Handcrafted Market whilst still setting up!!!
Labradorite is always a stone that draws customers to my stand at markets, and I prize the blue flashes of the stones, and take this into consideration when setting the stones as this is what sells the pieces.
I decided to make a couple of smaller statement labradorite rings, whilst trying out my new artisan handcrafted stamps from America:
Contemporary Handcrafted SS Rectangular Blue Flash Labradorite stamped square ring
This distinct rectangular ring sold the day after I made it at the Bishton Hall Spring Fair, to a lady who loves contemporary jewellery.
If you want to read the logic to my design process and the other labradorite pieces I made checkout the blog post Labradorite what's not to like?
Always on the lookout for something new, and I do love a rough and raw healing stone, as I find their imperfections has hidden depth, mesmerising and interesting, so when I was offered some rough top golden brown tiger eye cabochons, I just had to say yes, and couldn't wait to turn one into a statement ring:
Handcrafted SS Rough Top Tigers Eye Ring
