Rings, Rings and more Rings
Rings, Rings and more Rings
After the June hiatus, with the new cabochons arriving from the lapidarists in India, the LivingWell festival and the Manchester Night market this created the perfect storm for me to get back into Joolzery HQ making new recycled sterling silver and healing crystal rings, as my exploits from the previous months had resulted in me selling out rings in the more common sizes.
I had one customer who couldn't decide on which contemporary healing crystal rings she loved the most as they all fitted on the fingers she tried them on, and brought all 4!!!
A nice problem to have, and I was truly grateful and thankful for that significant sale, as the money is always re-invested into new tools, batches of healng crystal cabochons, sterling silver metal and/or payment for future market events.
When I sold my last rough top labradorite ring at the LivingWell Festival, I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to create 3 more rings, and as usual with these things my designs go off at a tangent, especially as I had put 3 days aside to create a new range of rings in time for the Night Market in Manchester, as you cannot just create 3 rings, and I had sold out of a lot of my popular healing stones.
Sorting through my stash of geometric rainbow moonstones, I came across this trapezoid shaped one with a fabulous blue flash if it was viewed at an angle, and I thought it would really pop if I oxidised the metal setting.
The only down side of using liver of sulphur is that it stinks the house out, even with the windows open. I thought that if I used the pre-made solution it wouldn't be as bad, but was proved wrong.
Personally and common sense would dictate that I shoud do this in the backyard, but knowing my neighbours, that smell of rotten eggs would have them all dailing 999, thinking I was upto something sinister, so it's better to suffer for my craft in silence!
I thought, if I am going to exposure myself to this headache inducing smell, I might as well create a collection of jewellery pieces, to make it worthwhile:

To be honest I left the oxisidising agent on longer than I was supposed to, and I was going to brush the excess off, but I really loved the black effect of the final pieces, especially as the blue flash of rainbow moonstone ring really pops!!!
As to those rough top labradorite cabochons, they were turned into these star stamped rings:

Surprisingly, one of these rings didn't make it to the market and/or website, as I have claimed it for myself, as I had a finger that really needed a ring to adorn it, and I love the effect of the flashes with a rough top, I couldn't resist treating myself.
But can you guess which one I claimed?
Turquoise is always a popular stone, it balances and aligns all the chakras, stabilises mood swings and instills inner calm. along with their stunning patterns, which really draws in the customers, I can see why, so I created these rings:

Isn't it funny how Turquoise comes in so many different colour matrixes?
Which one do you prefer?
It was at this point that I was on a roll, and had just received a delivery of new Golden Sheen Obsidian cabochons. I was contacted by instagram crafter who was complaining that the stones she brought didn't have any sheen within them, so out of curosity, I thought it prudent to check my stash.
I don't know why but I seem to be attrached to round cabochons at the moment, and so when I picked up this stone I know I wanted to make it into a fabulous ring.
The sheen can only be seen in certain light directions, so I made sure that the stone was set in the correct orientation to maximise the golden sheen of the Obsidian, in the ring:

Thulite Stamped Ring |
The dramatic make up of this Thulite stone really caught my eye, and it was crying out to be turned into a statement ring!
Thulite is a powerful life force healing stone, which can stimulate healing and regeneration. A fabulous stone when one needs to overcome resistance, assists in bringing out the extrovert, encouraging eloquence and showmanship. When it comes to problem solving Thulite promotes curosity and inventiveness, by combining love and logic.
What do you think?
