I had a 3 day event cancelled, so took the opportunity of a free weekend to head down to The Smoke and catch up with family and friends.
Loved seeing the day and night life of the regeneration space behind Kings Cross station, Coal Drops Yard, which I think was an old gasworks site, that included permanent and popup retail space for independents, bars and restaurants and a entertaiment stage:

No trip to London would be complete without checking the old stomping ground of Covent Garden, where I was hoping to show my friend a couple of my favourite London healing crystal shops, including Buddha on the Bicycle and Mysteries, but unfortunately found that they had closed down recently.
I guess it's the sign of the times.
But we had the chance to catch up over a couple plates of good old fashioned cod and chips, before heading over to Hatton Garden to stock up on some much needed supplies including some loose chain for my pendants and a new range of dangle earrings, along with some cute green amethyst drops, distinctive rectangular charoite and gorgeous turquoise beads, always a big winner at the winter markets.
And top it off, I was finally able to get my hands on the New Jewellery Techniques book, which I have been after since it came out at the beginning of the year.
So excited to start playing around with a new design technique that will bring something interesting to by jewellery pieces in the coming months.
Lets not forget being inspired by the architecture of the city, with fabulous art installations in random spaces, and I came across this door surround, which I think would make a fabulous texture on my handcrafted rings:

To those who love their dangling earrings I'm working on a new range of beaded design in time for the party season, which will be launched next month. What do you think?
I would love to hear your comments below
