2023 December Gemstone Gorgeousness
2023 December Gemstone Gorgeousness
It seems all my Christmas wishes w.r.t. healing crystals have come true this month.
Every month I delude myself into thinking my healing crystal collection for jewellery making is complete, and every month my suppliers prove me wrong, and this month is no different, especially as I have had customers asking for more and more commission healing crystal jewellery.
It's not often that Whitby Jet comes on the market in cabochon form, so when I was offered some, naturally I had to say yes, although those that know me know that I am not generally a fan of black healing crystals, I guess I'll have to make an exception in this case.
Jet, know as Lignite, is technically not a healing crystal, but like amber is of organic origin, as it is created by pressurised decaying wood, from the Araucariaceae family.
A stone for mourning, it draws negative enrgies from the aura, acts a purifier, as it attempts to remove any unawanted energies whilst promoting positivity.
Romans believed Jet would protect them from evil entities, especially the evil eye, and folk lore considers this to be a stone of luck.
Jet is a perfect stone for grounding as its' energy is abundant in Mother Earth, rooting one down to earth whilst assisting in balance and protection.
Tanzanite is another healing crystal customers have been asking for over the last few months, and previously I have only been able to get small cabochons, until an Indian supplier has been able to source bigger higher carat stones for me to make rings and pendants with.
Tanzanite activates several chakras from the heart to the crown and is used to link the mind with the heart, a powerful transformation gemstone, especially when used to develop spiritual abilities and growth.
Tanzanite activates the throat chakra, assisting in improving ones communication abilities, including psychically, in contacting ones spirit guide:

Ruby |
Chrome Diopside |
Ruby seems currently popular, with a number of customers who are getting married next year and wanting something made for a person of the same name, so when I found these I naturally was excited to get my hands on them.
Those that know me know that I love to find the more natural healing crystal and I absolutely love not only the deep raspberry pinks of these stones but the hexagonal matrix shown in some of them.
I'm was a bit disappointed that they are smaller than I would have liked and what I had in mind design wise, and that there are no pairs in these freeform stones, but I do love to make asymmetric earrings and they'll be great for rings.
Ruby derives it's name from the Latin for Red, with has the folk lore of conveying good health and the removal of negative energies. In Burma, it was believed that if Ruby was inserted into ones flesh that it would make them invulnerable and provide protection.
It is said that Ruby is a fabulous grounding stone that increases the flow of Chi within the body, drawing the life force directly into the root. A highly energising stone of the physical, emotional and mental bodies it is the perfect gemstone for those who lack strength.
Ruby encourages fortitude enabling one to have the courage and strength to persevere regardless of the adversities they face. It's ignites ones zest for life, emboldens one to follows ones passions, when failure or pain occurs, the vibration of this stone eliminates feelings of despair or defeat, preventing negativity overtaking the mind.
Diopside is derived from the Greek view and double, due to stones prism structure, has a strong connection to the planetMother Gaia, and is THE gemstone for those who wishes to live by the ideal of service to earth.
Diopside is said to be stone of eternal enlightenment and healing, possessing pure restorative energy for each and every lifetime.
Chrome Diopside, the green version, activates the heart chakra supporting emotions, and is especially empowering for women.
