Order out of Chaos
Order out of Chaos
What happens when you combine 2 of your favourite ring designs?
During the period toward the end of the Covid pandemic and we were coming out of lockdown, my head was all over the place, and this was the inspiration for the chaos and coil rings.
The chaos ring embodies what was going on at the time, are we going to come out of lockdown? When are we coming out of lockdown, will I be able to do the face-to-face markets I had booked and paid for? Will face-to-face markets still go ahead and from when?
There was so many questions and so much uncertainity, that I couldn't really focus on the making, and just took a piece of recycled copper wire and played around with it to form my first chaos ring.
This has been a big seller for Joolzery, as customers understand what it portrays and the feeling and emotion behind it.
3 years on, I thought it was time to give it an bit of an upgrade, especially with other local jewellers having a nasty habit of copying other jewellers designs, and decide to combine my 2 favourite designs to create the Order out of Chaos ring:
One of the thing that I love about making these chaos rings is althought the process is the same the outcome can be so completely different, as no matter how mucg I try no two rings are ever the same!!!
Taking this one step further adding some complexity to the design, creates a new type of chaos ring:
When things seem to be chaotic, you tend to want to get them under control, and this was the original concept of the coil rings that I created at the same time as the chaos ring.
A minimal design which is really easy to copy, which it has been cheaply and badly done I might add, so again I decided to modernise the design to make it a bit more contemporary by changing it to a more geometric style:
I have to say that I'm really loving these new contemporary designs, what do you think?
What do you think?
