Beltane is the festive holiday that signifies the beginning of Summer, and falls halfway between the Spring Equinox and the Summer solstice on May the 1st, or May Day.

It is said that this holiday celebrates the time of the year when the power of Gods and Goddesses are equal, where the masculine and feminine energies are united, which leads to fertility rites, fire festivals and dancing around the maypole.

Beltane it self means bright fire in Celtic, refering to the god Belenus (bel meaning bright one and teine which means fire) the protector of herds of cattle, who offeres healing and light to the ancient pagans.

Today Beltane is a popular time for planting, handfasting, romance, flower gathering and honouring the divine masculine and feminine energies.
