Mens Rings
A fellow stall holder reached out to me to create a wedding ring to replace the one her husband lost.
My first reaction, was you know I only work with sterling silver and copper.
To which she said that's what she's after and that they would like a texture.
Going back and forth, she directs me to an Etsy listing, to give me some idea of the texture she was after.
I am not a fan of copying others designs and work, and mentioned this to her, and we agreed that I would have creative licence on the texture design.
Taking into consideration that this was a replacement wedding ring for a man, I decided to go for a thicker band, 1.2mm, so that I could get a really prominent texture.
Finger measured and sterling silver ordered, I sit an wait for the delivery, whilst looking around my jewellery studio tools, to see what different textures I could create.
You know there's nothing better than hammering a piece of metal when you're angry and/or stressed.
Those that know me, know that when I'm in making mode, I never just create one thing, and as the customer didn't know what textured he really wanted, I always like to give them options:
A pickle and polish, before sending them off to the Birmingham Assay Office for hallmarking, and then a polish and tumble:

I gave the customer and husband the option, and this is the one he choose:

Which one would you have gone for?
