A Sentimental Commission
A very poignant commission from a customer who brought a pair of Amber earrings for his mother a few years ago at a Brockholes Artisan market.
I meet this customer with his mother at a Brockholes Artisan market.
At the time, she was ungoing Cancer treatment, and was looking for something to lift her mood.
The Amber earrings on my earring stand caught her eye, and when looking at the healing properties, assists in healing and cleansing the body, which resonated with her:
Earlier this month, out of the blue I received an email, from the son, telling me that sadly his mother had passed away, stating
"My mother adored them and they brought her so much happiness and peace when she wore them, and found they brought healing during her time going through treatment.
My father and sister have been looking for them for months, only for me to find them in a very obvious place, a place where hsi mother placed trinkets and special things.
I have a stromg spititual connection with my mum and believe she guided me to them.
I've been wantinv to find them as I wanted to have 2x necklaces made out of them, one for me and one for my sister.
The amber has such a wonderful energy and I think it would help us both to have these."
Maybe because I was feeling a bit sentimental, and this email really touched my heart, I offered to just charge for the chain and findings, and converted them into 2 pendants:

Then I realised, I had the earwires left over, as asked myself what am I going to do with them? Keep them, no point as I can't use them due to health and safety or send them back with the pendants, what will they do with them.
In the end I emailed the customer, what they wanted me to do with the ear wires, and offered to melt them down to make some studs, which they thought was a great idea:
They have all been sent to the customer, and I hope they get years of wear and help them with their grief.
