Joolzery?
Joolzery?
Since starting my business, the main question I get is "Joolzery?
Where did that come from?"
Most people get to guess that I am either a Julia, Julie, or a Juliette, but or those that don't, I am indeed a Julia.
The hardest thing when setting up Joolzery was coming up with a business name, all I knew was I wanted a business name that told people what the business was and that I was the owner, designer, maker and creator.
As per usual I researched what other jewellery businesses were called, and found that Julia Creations was already out there, along with Jewellery by Julia, but in saying that I wanted something with a little bit more pizzazz.
I have always found the name Julia a little bit too formal, and as jewellery is a fun and expressive way to exhibit ones' personality, it would not work the way I wanted.
To those who are fortunate, or in some cases unfortunate to know me, I am more commonly known and referred to as Joolz.
So finally messing around with various names I settled on Jewels by Joolz.
Proud of my tongue in cheek pun, I asked my graphic design and printer company to design me a business card with the new name and some graphics, along with the words handmade jewellery.
Unfortunately, when I got the 1st draft, I had to go back to the drawing board, as I realised that for such a small card there were just too many words!
For those that know me they know I have an unfortunate habit of mis-pronouncing a lot if my words, along with completely making up new words, just to keep things interesting, so I thought why not use this to my advantage, and Joolzery was born!!!
As someone recently pointed out, it just lucky I was named Julia, otherwise I would not have be able to get away with such a pun.
