Shungite was discovered in Karelia, North Russia, is an extremely earthy and anti-geopathogenic stone that's at least 2 billion years old.

Formed before organic life was established, Shungite is a carbon base mineral, which normally arises from decaying organic matter, such as ancient forests, and it may have been instrumental in creating life on Earth.

It has been suggested that Shungite was formed after an enormous meteorite hit the Earth creating the crater which forms Lake Onega, and it is suggested that micro organisms were swimming in the soupy sea and that the seabed formed the Shungite deposit.
